BRACA-SPORT® paddles have been designed using the latest technology available, inspired by the comments and in collaboration with some of the world's most successful athletes and coaches. We were the first to introduce the by now highly successful 'tear-drop' blade. At that time this design was revolutionary and proved to have significant advantages over the more traditional, parallel-edged blade.
Blades and shafts can be made with varying flexibility and stiffness. By carefully monitoring the results and seeking feedback from our customers, we discovered that 90% of paddlers are best suited to use our standard production line.
BRACA-SPORT® blades are build from a proprietary blend of high modulus carbon (HMC), kevlar and hollow glass fibers. The use of carbon fiber gives our products extreme lightness and 'stiffness', while kevlar and glass add great impact resistance and overall strength. These materials are combined with a reinforced epoxy resin, then polymerized under pressure at 80°C to yield the world acclaimed 'BRACA-SPORT®" blade.
International top class competition demands superbly light shafts with exceptional stiffness. To meet these standards, our 100% 'BRACA-SPORT®' carbon shafts are polymerized at the increased temperature of 160°C. These shafts may be too light and too rigid for athletes of young age inexperienced paddlers, the inherent tension and jarring may result in injuries. To better suit their needs, we also offer a combination carbon-glass shaft, which is slightly heavier but greatly reduces the possibility of an injury and strains.
